I was raised to be a good christian soldier...
and I was told that you have to believe...
cause if you don't, the devil's gonna get your soul now...
and you know you're gonna burn, burn, burn for eternity.
For seventeen years I paid my dues on sunday...
and it took a long time away for me to clear my head...
the path to truth is wide but it sure is lonely....
cause it's a scary thing to choose to be free.
Do not believe cause it was spoken by the saints of old...
Do not believe in words written down so long, long ago...
Do not believe what your teachers say is true even though everybody agrees...
cause history makes wise men into fools... and heretics into saints.
Some say humanity is on it's way down...
and sometimes I'm inclined to agree.
I look around.. to me the cause is clear as day now...
it's in the way we see the world and our place within...
Ideas are spread much like diseases...
from mind to mind and from place to place...
what we need is a drastic change in our way of thinking...
to spread far and wide before it's too late.
