I like many in my generation, was hopeful about Barak Obama when he first appeared on the political scene as a presidential candidate, but as I have listened to him in recent weeks I have been disappointed to find myself listening to him promote a brand of foreign policy that is virtually identical to that of our current neo-con, corporate, dictator and chief.
In a speech in August Obama outlined his foreign policy positions stating that he would authorize military force against al-Qaeda in Pakistan if Pakistan does not neutralize the organization itself. Attack Pakistan? Is he fucking crazy?
Sure, I know the neo-conservatives intend to subjugate the entire Middle East, but you would think they would have enough sense to see that we are financially and militarily over extended, and that if we continue on our present course we will bankrupt this country.
Don’t think it’s possible? Just take a look at what happened to the Soviet Union. Our current scenario is very similar to that of the former USSR. Massive military spending and soaring debt had weakened them to the core, but no one could see it until the Berlin Wall came falling down. Why didn’t the world see the warning signs? The answer is simple: Russia worked hard to make the world to believe that they were still strong; after all, 90% of power lies in the ability to intimidate one’s enemies. America’s bravado has the look of a teetering giant that is desperately trying to instill fear in the hearts of his growing number of adversaries. It isn’t working folks, the rest of the world sees through us, and they know our days are numbered.
If we attack another country, whether it be Pakistan or Iran or North Korea we will guarantee the collapse of the United States as we know it. Already our dollar is falling against virtually every other currency in the world, and there are serious warning signs that we are approaching a deep recession. All we need is another Viet-Irak-istan to top it all off.
Though I would certainly like to vote for a black president, Obama’s clear intention to extend the sphere of America’s preemptive wars and terrorist hunts shows that he is in bed with the globalist and cannot be trusted. It appears that Ron Paul is the only uncorrupted candidate left.
