Court reverses Bush on archive secrecy

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal judge on Monday tossed out part of a 2001 order by President George W. Bush that lets former presidents keep some of their presidential papers secret indefinitely.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ruled that the U.S. Archivist's reliance on the executive order to delay release of the papers of former presidents is "arbitrary, capricious, an abuse of discretion and not in accordance with law."

Criticized by historians, the November 2001 order allowed the White House or a former president to block release of a former president's papers and put the onus on researchers to show a "specific need" for many types of records.

With the stunning success achieved by the Bush administration in Iraf, it's surprising that the liberation of this little known country between Iraq and Iran has received so little attention.

"It's actually become something of a problem..." political analyst Peter Finch stated when we interviewed him. "With so many countries in the middle east eagerly waiting for us to liberate them, we just can't afford to fund what amounts to extended vacations for thousands of American soldiers."

"Ordering a troop withdrawal would reek havoc on moral." Said a high ranking military official speaking on the condition of anonymity. "The troops just don't want to leave."

With Bush set to start promoting his plan to oust the blood thirsty Czar of Tajikistan early next year, many believe that he may face difficulty convincing the American public that conquering another third world country could possibly be as fun as Iraf was.

"I think this is a perfect example of how the liberal media likes to spin the news." Said Rush Limbaugh in a recent show. "Iraf is proof that taking over other countries for no reason can be both fun and profitable, there's no reason Tajikistan would be any exeption, but all the liberals want to do is focus on the negative."

Just look at Bush's face when he tries to answer the reporters question as to whether he had advance knowledge of the September 11th attacks. If he had been on trial at that moment the jury would have put him away for life.

The Bush administration did a good job of convincing the American public of how evil and dangerous Saddam Hussein was, but as you will see in the following video, the United States not only knew about Saddam's genocides and human rights abuses, we actually encouraged them and even helped him carry it out.

Poll Shows 1 in 3 Americans Still Believe Saddam Involved in 9/11

NEW YORK Six years after the 9/11 terror attacks on the U.S., it seems the media still have some educational work to do. A new CBS/New York Times poll reveals that even today, 1 in 3 Americans believe that "Saddam Hussein was personally involved in the September 11th, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon."

This notion was thoroughly debunked by official sources, including those in the White House, years ago, but the myth endures. Polls have shown that belief in this untruth was a prime component in support for the attack on Iraq.

Four in 10 Republicans still hold this view, compared with 32% of Independents and 27% of Democrats.

The poll of 1,035 adults was taken Sept. 4 to 8.

I have been through the entire set of arguments about the 911 cover up so many times with people that it has become easy to predict the common positions that people will take in defense of their world view. I say in defense of their world view, because that's exactly what it is. Accepting the truth about the events of 911 would be absolutely devastating to their reality.

One of my favorite arguments is the one that comes up when I talk to people about the velocity of objects falling through space in a vacuum and the speed that the WTC towers fell.

An object falling through space with absolutely 0 resistance, not even the resistance of air would have taken 9.22 seconds to hit the ground, yet by official record one of the buildings fell in approximately 8 seconds.

This isn't possible without some force pushing the building down from above; more specifically explosives.

It isn’t really a question; it’s just a way of opening the conversation. Anyone who would defend George Bush’s intelligence should get their head checked. I have listened to enough conservatives to know the classic argument by heart. “He’s not articulate that doesn’t mean he’s not intelligent.” While I could argue that having a firm grasp of one’s native language is a big indicator of intelligence, his way of speaking and his social blunders are hardly the most important issues at hand.

When I say George Bush is an idiot I say it with the whole spectrum of his actions in mind. This is a guy who started an entire war based on a mythical stockpile of chemical and biological weapons thinking somehow no one would notice when we didn’t find any. I don’t care what anyone says about faulty intelligence on the part of the CIA. That’s just bullshit. I was in Mexico when they first started planning the invasion, and in the news papers of Mexico there was clear evidence that Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Just a few months before the war was officially declared, Saddam made an open invitation to any country in the world to come and search any facility, and any building, including his private residence to prove that there were no weapons. If Mexican news papers had this information you can be damn sure the CIA did too. They knew, but they also knew that Americans have a short attention span and are far too distracted with the super bowl and American Idol to really stand up for anything.

They are a convenient way for the United States Government (namely the Bush administration) to carry out military operations without incurring the responsibility that would normally be associated with them. The second video focuses in on one particular sniper operation in Iraq where a group of Black Water fighters are shown picking off insurgents in what they label a "turkey shoot."
