I've had other things going on, so I haven't done any recording in the last two weeks. Tonight I redid the drums and started getting the bass together a little more. I think I have got it on the right track at this point. Anyway, I will work on the bass some more in the next couple of days probably.

This is where I left off in the recording last night. I'm starting to like it a lot more at this point. The piano needs alot of work, and I think there will need to be at least one more instrument added.

This is even more cut down... it's kind of like working in reverse right now.

Eventually I will start putting stuff back in, but first I have to get the essentials straightened out.

I recorded this yesterday, but I didn't get around to uploading it. This version now has a rough version of the guitar and a little more of the piano.

Right now is when the song is entering its most awkward stage. I will go through a lot of drastic additions and deletions between now and the finished product. Usually I have to spend a couple of weeks in full concentration to get the magic to come out.

Today I recorded the basic vocals and started to lay down a little piano. It's all pretty rough right now, but I can't afford to make everything smooth and perfect until I get the guitar into place. I will start the guitar tomorrow.

My sister Joanna is probably going to come over Monday to hang out, and we might record some together. It's been a long time.

In general the recording is going very quickly. I guess that year and a half of recording the first album taught me a few things.

This is the result of the first day of recording for my new album. This song has words, but I always start by laying down the structure of the song before recording the voice.
I will probably start recording the vocals this weekend. Should be fun.
