My complements.. This is exactly how to handle this. These elected representatives have committed treason and everyone should know about it and they need to be challenged individually.

Nice one, @waitingforthestorm.

Right, now for immediate implementation:

I consider voting for this oppressive legislation to be a 'belligerent act' against the American people and in direct contravention of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
So, when can I expect to see these individuals arrested and detained?

I just read that section of the bill and honestly, I think that people are taking that one word and expanding it a bit, however, I can see where this can be twisted to suit a rogue congress, senate, or President's needs.

Belligerent can mean any number of things or something we will never know and this word being in the bill give the government the authority to do whatever they want.

A great idea but your list of Senators is incorrect. I believe 13 Senators voted against the bill...

When you look at these current situations and think about the events in the past that led up to this point, it's hard not to believe that it wasn't planned for longer then a lot of us would like to admit.

Lets think back to when Obama was first running office and one of his promises if elected was to shut down Guantanamo. Was his overall goal was not to abolish acts committed there but to provide a gateway to move the stage onto US soil?

The bottom line is NO ONE should be held for any reason without justification, terrorist or US citizen alike. Isn't that the basis of our moral fibre. How can a civilized world society grow on a foundation of hatred and greed.

If this law falls through the cracks it wont be long before the abuse starts and by then it will be to late. It seems that the seeds for a corporate dictatorship were planted a long time before 9/11.

After reading the aforementioned bill, I can see where one could misinterpret, or take the wording out of context. The bill authorizes the military to detain only those who are covered persons, as is explained in (b) Covered Persons, (2)p.359 : A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly
supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.

So the Belligerent Act is open for debate, but framed with the wording of al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces taht are engaged in hostilities against the U.S. I don't see how this could be applied to protestors or anyone who speaks out against the government.

Still... thank you for posting this and posting the bill, and creating a forum for ideas and information to pass unregulated and uncensored from the media and government. Kudos and I shall be back to read more. You and your people here are true patriots.
